Before Starting
When working with computers, ensure that you are properly grounded to prevent ESD damage.
Grounding straps or an ESD overcoat will be sufficient. Ensure that the power source is removed from the unit
BIOS Repair
- Remove any storage device the unit has installed (M.2 or 2.5” drive”)
- Plug in the USB key with the current BIOS version to the unit
- Power on the unit
- When the Intel splash screen appears press F7 to update BIOS
- Select the USB key as the source
- The screen will change to select the file
- Select the file and press enter
- The screen will go black with white font as it processes each update
(The update will take between 5 and 10 minutes)
- Reinstall any storage devices that were previously removed from the unit
